About LynX Phone
Hindsight is 2020 as the saying goes. At XTC Mobile, we have the benefit of experience when it comes to privacy and mobile computing. It’s all in the new LynX Phone.
In the beginning, we began with the very first XFone. The year was 2020. This was a pure Linux phone designed originally so that AI code could run easily on a mobile phone. In doing this, we made a device that for the first time in a long while could make calls, text and browse on the Internet - without Google. We found that while the device was of interest to programmers, the real market was privacy and security – where businesspeople live and work.
The problem with Linux is that only a programmer would love it. The user interface was just never going to be as good as Android and not as good as Apple. We saw that Linux phones were never going to be viewed by the market as major players. After a lot of work, we rebuilt our operating system of choice by forking GrapheneOS. GrapheneOS is acknowledged as the best operating system for privacy, and with updated support for the latest Pixels from Google. What it needed was a serious facelift, having the same user experience drawbacks as mobile Linux.
We built a new iOS type launcher called XFoneOS launcher, re-adding Linux Container support (LXC) and a carefully selected pre-loaded application stack for business users. This was the genesis of XFoneOS™ - the best new mobile operating system for business users who want privacy, security and control over their data.
With XFoneOS™ running on a Pixel 7, the new LynX Phone was born. LynX Phone PX7 is a leap forward because it started with built-in privacy. It gets this by being built out of GrapheneOS and Linux. What makes it best in class for privacy based mobile devices is its sexy look and feel that any Android user would easily recognize. We pay tribute to Apple users with an iOS style keyboard and onboarding tools that make it easy for Apple users to sync their data. The operating system that makes all this work is XFoneOS™ - which is a nod to the original XFone that began the product line many years ago.

From its kernel all the way through to its application layer and services, we continuously integrate the best features that we see from Apple, Android and Linux, while leaving behind the nasty privacy agreements that the big players all work into their licensing terms.
